AVANT GARDE TYPE POSTER

Challenge

I was challenged with designing a type poster using any font. I had to use only the chosen font on the poster. I was told to go out of my design comfort zone by designing something crazy and fun. I chose the fonts Avant Garde.

Solution

Avant Garde is a fun font, and I knew I wanted to create something unexpected. From my mood board I designed the “A” in “Avant” to take up half of the page. The eye of the “A” was large enough to place the name of the artist and the aperture of the “A” for the history of the font. I originally had the colors, red, light green, black, and white, but it started to look too much like Christmas colors. I then changed the colors to navy blue, pale green, burnt orange, and golden yellow.
